With such an expansive range of mountains and expert mountain guides, a choice of great climbing days are on offer for both the budding enthusiast and more experienced climber.

Late May to early August affords the unique experience of mountaineering or hiking at night in the Land of the Midnight Sun.

The Lyngen peninsula in particular offers superb climbing – some of Europe’s highest vertical and overhanging rock faces are found in the region and ski mountaineers will be rewarded with fabulous descents toward crystal clear fjords.

Mountains rise out of the fjords to 6000ft; the breath-taking views, exciting climbs and spectacular glaciers rival those to be found anywhere else in Europe.

Like most activities in Troms region, you can combine your mountaineering with other high-adrenalin past-times or more sedentary trips like whale watching or walking.
