During the summer, Troms region really does offer something for everyone!
As a TV presenter and fishing journalist, I have been fortunate to visit the stunning region many times and I never ceased to be amazed by the sheer range of things to do or places to see.
From mid-May to early August you’ll enjoy 24 hours of daylight. You could find yourself fishing after midnight (North Norway has some of the most spectacular sea fishing and river fishing in the world!), horse riding, cycling, kayaking or enjoying the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Tromso City – known as ‘The Paris of The North’! Packed with lively bars, restaurants and shops, this lovely harbour city is a great place to visit or even make a base for excursions.
With its rugged beauty and temperate summer climate, Troms region really does offer a quite spectacular choice of things to do. The abundant plant life and wildlife offer stunning photo opportunities. Whales, sea eagles, golden eagles moose and even the shy Lynx may be spotted during your stay.
For the walking enthusiasts, summer is the perfect time to take in the clean air and pleasant surroundings.
You can also explore the coastal region by boat. Cruise ships operate along the coastlines and there are also superb charter boats for hire for fishing, exploring and photography.
Expect temperatures similar to UK summers (sometimes hotter!) and enjoy the rich variety of culture and experiences that Northern Norway has to offer.
